How we work

Editorial Policy

We are here to add useful choices to a Japan trip — not to call every lesser-known place a hidden gem.

Decision first

Our guides are written around a practical question: who is this experience for, who should skip it, and what trade-offs matter? Famous options and quieter alternatives can both be the right choice.

Primary sources where possible

For dates, transport, ticketing, access rules and other changeable facts, we prioritize official operators, tourism bodies, government sources and venue information. Time-sensitive details are rechecked before publication or clearly marked for readers to verify.

Tea: useful depth, not a textbook

We aim for enough specialist context to explain why regions, processing and tea styles can feel different without turning travel content into technical tea study. Regional reputation is not used as a substitute for what actually fits an itinerary.

Free and direct options matter

Affiliate availability does not erase free, official or direct-booking alternatives. When a free or official option changes the decision, we include it.

Images and media

We use our own material, properly licensed stock, official media libraries under their stated conditions, or material supplied with permission. We do not assume that an image is reusable just because it appears on an official tourism page, booking platform or social account. Where a license, credit requirement, portrait right, trademark right or permitted-use scope is unclear, we do not publish the asset until it is confirmed.

Corrections

Travel information changes. When we identify a material error or outdated condition, we update the page rather than quietly preserving an outdated recommendation.
